Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Catering Manager in New York to lead the Catering Department, train new associates, oversee event setups, and direct temporary staff. You will ensure high-quality service during events, including setup, sanitation, and breakdown procedures.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service experience including 1 year in a management role.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, healthcare or related operations.
• Catering experience is required.
• Knowledge of food trends, quality, production, sanitation and food cost controls.
• Strong financial, budgeting, accounting and computational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervises catering events and oversees event setup.
• Manages catering operations, including logistics, sanitation, and facilities.
• Collaborates with the Chef on menu development and presentation.
• Trains catering staff in service techniques, menu presentation and guest service.
• Monitors labor and food costs for each event.
• Maintains strong client relationships through effective communication.
• Supports all foodservice-related activities as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
