Chartwells Higher Ed is seeking an Executive Chef for NYU in New York, NY. You will oversee kitchen operations and ensure a safe, sanitary environment while directing meal preparation per corporate programs.

The role requires hands-on leadership, high-volume culinary management, and a focus on quality, cost controls, and presentation. Strong computer skills and ServSafe are valued in this role.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience.
• Hands-on chef experience.
• Knowledge of food trends, production, sanitation, and cost controls.
• Proficiency with MS Office; ServSafe certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans regular and modified menus according to guidelines.
• Follows standardized recipes, portions, and presentation standards; uses daily production worksheets and waste logs.
• Trains kitchen staff in food prep, safety, equipment operation, and sanitation.
• Maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and areas.
• Maintains inventory within guidelines and ensures product availability.
• Manages leftover food utilization within company guidelines.
• Complies with health, safety, and sanitation regulations and audits.
• Follows safety policies and participates in meetings and professional programs.
