Job summary

Chartwells Higher Ed Dining Services at UNC Asheville is seeking part-time cashiers. The role involves handling cash transactions, balancing the cash drawer, and delivering friendly service in a campus dining setting.

Shifts may include mornings or nights with online applications accepted. Prior cashier experience is preferred but not required; pay ranges from $13.50 to $15.00 per hour, with perks such as a free shift meal. Benefits are available for eligible associates.

Qualifications

• Experience as cashier or in cash handling preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs sales transactions in a timely fashion.
• Enters all sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded.
• Makes change, accepts various forms of payment, and issues receipts.
• Follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
• Interacts with customers and resolves complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Keeps cash drawer in balance and maintains compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Replenishes condiments, coffee and beverages and keeps service areas clean.
• Ensures pastry case is stocked and adheres to sanitation practices.
