Job summary

The University of Lynchburg is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician – Carpentry to keep our campus safe, functional, and historically preserved.

Work alongside electricians, plumbers, and HVAC pros, fabricate and install cabinetry and trim, perform routine maintenance, and log work in CMMS. This on-site role requires a high-school diploma and a 8:30 am to 5:00 pm schedule with some evenings or weekend on-call.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of journeyman-level carpentry experience in commercial, residential, or institutional settings.
• Experience collaborating with Electricians, Plumbers, and HVAC technicians.
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR.
• Proficient with digital tools for tracking work orders.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural repair, fabrication, and maintenance of campus facilities.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary trades to complete complex renovations.
• Perform routine maintenance requests and preventative tasks.
• Manage door hardware installation and security components.
• Log labor hours and materials in CMMS and ensure safety compliance.
