Job summary

Marshall University in Huntington, WV is seeking a skilled Carpenter to maintain, repair, and alter university facilities. You will perform carpentry work, follow safety regulations, and use a range of hand, pneumatic, and power tools to complete projects on time.

This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to campus maintenance, install and repair fixtures, cabinets, doors, and ceilings, and to read blueprints and work orders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of carpentry or building construction, renovation, or maintenance experience.
• Preferred: completion of a vocational/apprenticeship program in carpentry or related trade.

Responsibilities

• Uses hand, pneumatic, and power tools to perform skilled carpentry work.
• Constructs walls, hangs sheetrock, installs doors, hardware, ceilings, tiles, and trim.
• Installs glass in windows, doors, and partitions.
• Inspects and repairs roofs, gutters, and related components.
• Fabricates custom cabinetry and furniture per specifications.
• Interprets drawings and blueprints and follows safety regulations.
