Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a part-time, on-site Food Service Specialist to support daily meal operations for students. You will assist in food preparation, ensure safety and quality, operate cafeteria equipment, and help maintain clean dining and service areas.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and the ability to supervise meals during service periods. Ideal candidates have 1+ years of experience in physically active roles and possess a manager food safety certification.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service operations and serving students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, safety, and quality assurance for students.
• Provide customer service and interact with staff, students, and families daily.
• Operate cafeteria equipment and maintain food service spaces; report equipment issues.
• Perform cleaning duties: sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, washing dishes, trash disposal.
• Assist with loading/unloading food and non-food items weekly.
