Job summary

The University of Notre Dame on campus is seeking temporary/on-call Baristas for Café J, Ivan's Cafe and Cafe on the Ave within the campus Hospitality department. The Barista delivers high-quality beverages to guests and campus personnel in a fast-paced environment, upholding brand standards and service excellence.

Greet guests, prepare drinks, maintain clean work areas, and manage payments. This on-site role supports campus life and customer service across multiple cafe locations.

Qualifications

• Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Positive and respectful attitude.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods (up to 6 hours).
• Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products.

Responsibilities

• Greet and anticipate the needs of guests, providing excellent service.
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to brand standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work area, including dining and prep spaces.
• Stock and replenish supplies in service and prep areas.
• Process guest checks, handle payments, and follow accounting procedures.
• Assist with cleaning, table arrangement, and trash removal.
• Perform side work and support coworkers to ensure a seamless operation.
