Job summary

The Cafe Attendant position is located at the Bluffton Campus of the Technical College of the Lowcountry, operated under the State of South Carolina. The role focuses on preparing and serving food, delivering courteous service to guests and students, and maintaining a clean, compliant café area.

You will assist in daily operations, train student helpers, rotate stock for freshness, and ensure health codes are followed in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe Food Protection Manager’s Certification preferred.
• ServSafe Food Handler Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction with courteous, friendly service.
• Take food and beverage orders and prepare to standards promptly.
• Set up café, create menu, signage and specials for daily service.
• Accept payments and handle cash per policy.
• Read, write, and communicate clearly with customers and staff.
• Maintain hygiene and a professional appearance at all times.
• Assist students and staff, training others as needed.
• Maintain stock and ensure freshness of products.
