Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington's Campus Bus is seeking a part-time bus operator supervisor in Bloomington, IN. The role focuses on filling operator assignments and monitoring daily operations to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will document schedule changes, maintain positive relations with riders and the campus community, and ensure adherence to university and transportation regulations. The position pays $22.00 per hour and requires CDL within 6 months, DOT medical certification,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (HSED or GED).
• Ability to pass criminal background check.
• Ability to read a map and know the service area.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently.
• Willingness to pass pre-employment alcohol and drug testing and ongoing testing.
• Ability to learn transit operations and DOT rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all work assignments are filled by a bus operator; supervisor may drive if needed.
• Monitors radio and assists bus operators as required.
• Documents schedule changes on the daily sheet; ensures accuracy.
• Maintains positive customer relations with passengers and University community.
• Ensures operators comply with laws and regulations for public transportation.
• Monitors safety and mechanical operation of assigned buses.
• Directs operators to use paper timecards when TIME System is unavailable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Campus Bus Management.
