Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington seeks a part-time Campus Bus employee to support maintenance, refueling, and safety operations for IU transit buses on the Bloomington campus. Duties include preventive maintenance, fluids replenishment, bus cleaning, defect reporting, and safe operation of buses in the facility.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of customer service experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (HSED or GED).
• 1 year customer service experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by Indiana University Upon Date of Hire.
• Preferred: CDL Upon Date of Hire, ASE Light Duty Maintenance Certification, and position-required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance and refueling of university vehicles.
• Ensure IU transit buses are prepared for service the following day by replenishing fluids, conducting bus wash, sweeping vehicle, recording defects, and submitting fuel report worksheets.
• Enhanced vehicle cleaning/disinfecting measures with concentration on high frequency touch areas; collect and empty garbage from waste bin.
• Operate the Indiana University transit buses at the facility and park them under the department's bus parking canopy.
• Take appropriate action to ensure the safety of themselves and others, reporting safety issues upon inspection.
