Job summary

The Ohio State University is hiring a Campus Bus Operator to safely transport students, faculty, and staff across our Columbus campus and medical center seven days a week. Operate 15- to 53-passenger buses, vans, and shuttles on designated routes and for special trips, conduct safety inspections, and assist passengers.

This essential role requires a Class B CDL with endorsements, passing medical and background checks, and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and events.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements.
• Must pass medical, drug, and alcohol screenings.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and events.
• Must complete FBI/BCI background check.
• Essential position designated under university emergency policy.

Responsibilities

• Operate buses, vans, and shuttles on routes and for special trips.
• Perform daily safety inspections, fueling, cleaning, and prep for service.
• Load/unload luggage and assist passengers as needed.
• Document activities, maintain logs, and complete reports.
• Identify and report mechanical or safety issues promptly.
• Participate in training to stay current on safety standards.
