Job summary

West Virginia University's Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services seeks a Behavior Health Therapist to provide short-term individual and group counseling, crisis management, and outreach for undergraduate, graduate and professional students in Morgantown.

The role includes intake evaluations, risk assessment, and collaboration with campus partners, with opportunities for clinical supervision of interns and telehealth services as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
• Experience providing outpatient counseling to students or young adults.
• License or license-eligible within six months in West Virginia.
• Commitment to cultural humility and affirmative care.
• Ability to use electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term individual and group counseling, in person and virtually, for diverse student populations.
• Conduct intake evaluations, triage assessments and crisis intervention as needed.
• Coordinate case management and campus liaison activities for student care.
• Produce and document clinical notes, treatment plans and required reports.
• Provide supervision or mentorship to practicum interns as needed.
