usasaeedu seeks an English Composition Adjunct Instructor to apply the Student-Centered Active Education model across assigned courses, inspiring and guiding students while supporting campus events and advising activities.

The role requires various degree credentials (master’s and bachelor’s with field credentials) and 4 years of industry experience, with a part-time onsite expectation and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• For General Education courses: a master’s degree with 18 semester credits or 24 quarter credits in the area of the course(s) assigned to teach.
• For program courses toward a Diploma or Associate’s Degree: a bachelor’s degree; if not in the field, credential in the field at or above program level; and 4 years of industry experience since degree.
• For program courses toward a Bachelor’s degree: a master’s degree; credential in the field at or above program level; and 4 years of industry experience since degree.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes as assigned in accordance with all SAE policies and procedures.
• Deliver instruction in alignment with the Student-Centered Active Education model.
• Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning and student engagement.
• Contribute to a learning culture by participating in academic advising, curriculum development, and campus events.
• Manage the learning environment by keeping attendance records and submitting grades on time.
• Effectively plan and prepare for classes and student success, including course activities.
• Advise and support absent and high-risk students and document contact activities.
• Complete faculty development activities annually to improve instructional delivery and knowledge.
• Maintain instructor eligibility according to applicable regulations.
• For full-time instructors, supervise makeup sessions, provide tutoring and advising, support faculty development, and substitute for classes in emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
