Job summary

New College of Florida in Sarasota, FL is seeking an AV Support Technologist to lead campus audiovisual support for internal and guest events. You will deploy and operate AV/streaming gear across venues, manage live shows, and troubleshoot on-the-fly to ensure seamless experiences.

You’ll perform routine maintenance, oversee inventory, and liaise with event organizers to translate visions into technical plans.

Qualifications

• An associate’s degree and four years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 4 years’ experience.
• Experience with audio visual equipment, classroom technology, computer deployment and imaging systems.
• Ability to work independently and with teams for special projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical lead for campus programming and AV support.
• Deploy and operate audio, video, streaming equipment across venues.
• Manage live shows using mixing consoles, video switchers, lighting boards.
• Troubleshoot live issues quickly so audiences do not notice.
• Perform routine testing, maintenance, and basic repairs on equipment.
• Maintain inventory control and warehouse oversight for gear.
• Coordinate with clients via site walkthroughs to translate vision into plans.
• Record gear check-in/out and repair shipments; other duties as assigned.
