Job summary

Starbucks location on the UCSD campus in La Jolla, San Diego is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our leadership team. You will support the Store Manager in leading the team, ensuring a welcoming Starbucks experience, and maintaining brand standards.

This role requires supervisory experience, strong coaching, and the ability to manage staffing, scheduling, inventory, and customer service goals. You will be on the floor, train teammates, and help resolve operational challenges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• 1–2 years of retail, food service, or customer service experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory, shift lead, or team lead experience preferred.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and develop team members.
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily store operations in partnership with the Store Manager.
• Model exceptional customer service and coach team members to deliver a welcoming Starbucks experience.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, shift coverage, and labor management to support business needs.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing feedback.
• Monitor store performance: sales, labor, inventory, waste, and customer service results.
• Support cash handling, inventory management, ordering, and loss prevention procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness, product quality, food safety, and brand standards.
