Job summary

East Texas A&M University invites applications for a Federal Work Study or Student Worker position as a Lion Ambassador. You will serve as a tour guide, welcome prospective students and families, and share accurate information about admissions, financial aid, housing, and student life.

As part of the Admissions Recruitment team, you will help recruit and support new students, staff the Welcome Center, and represent the university with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Maintain a 2.25 institutional cumulative GPA.
• Be an undergraduate student who has completed one full semester in good standing.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide walking campus tours to prospective students, families and guests.
• Engage, recruit, and contribute to increasing the population of new incoming students.
• Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate staff members.
• Assist in planning and executing departmental events (e.g., Admitted Student Day, Mane Event, Large Group Tours).
• Communicate professionally with university faculty, staff, students, and the public.
• Advise on admissions statuses, policies and office programs.
• Perform other related duties and support a welcoming environment.
