Job summary

University of South Carolina seeks an Interpersonal Violence Advocate to provide confidential, empowerment-based advocacy for survivor students of sexual assault, gender-based and intimate partner violence, stalking and harassment on campus in Columbia, SC.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience; a Master’s degree is preferred. You’ll work 37.5 hours weekly, with a dynamic on-call schedule and flexible hours to meet department needs.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of job-related experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential, empowerment-based advocacy for survivors of interpersonal violence.
• Coordinate resources including emergency housing, food, clothing, transportation and other assistance.
• Maintain up-to-date data in compliance with regulations and participate in professional development.
• Serve as liaison with campus/community partners and respond to after-hours hotline calls.
• Contribute to safeguarding and reporting obligations, including CLERY-related duties.
