Job summary

Penn State Altoona is seeking an Admissions Counselor to support on-campus recruitment, enrollment, and student success. The role involves guiding prospective students and families from inquiry to enrollment and coordinating campus visit programs.

You will work with campus partners to ensure a seamless transition to campus life, manage communications through Slate and other systems, and contribute to enrollment goals with a student-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Experience presenting to diverse audiences including high school students, families, and community partners.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to student success and excellent customer service.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized guidance to prospective and admitted students and families regarding academic programs and enrollment processes.
• Build meaningful relationships with students throughout recruitment and enrollment cycle via multiple channels.
• Serve as primary contact for prospective/admitted students, connecting them with campus resources.
• Assist students in understanding admission decisions, enrollment requirements, and academic pathways.
• Support students through milestones: application, orientation, housing, and course scheduling.
