Job summary

Kampgrounds Of America, Inc. (KOA) is seeking a part-time Maintenance Engineer to upkeep campground buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds.

The role includes carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and appliance installations as needed, with emphasis on safety and compliance. Work is outdoors in varying conditions; the candidate should be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work nights/weekends, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing equipment and installation.
• Basic knowledge of chemical properties, handling and usage.
• Basic knowledge of propane and gasoline dispensing.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Valid Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance/repairs to campground buildings, facilities, equipment, vehicles, and grounds as directed by the engineering supervisor.
• Comply with all KOA safety programs by adhering to established guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with preventative maintenance program through regular inspection of facilities, buildings, cabins, vehicles, and equipment.
• Inspect equipment to ensure proper functioning of heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, electrical systems, etc.
• Troubleshoot problems with equipment to determine the cause of failure and determine the best solution for repair or replacement.
• Install fixtures, equipment, and appliances as needed.
• Ensure safe operation of pool and aquatic features by maintaining proper pool chemistry and handling pool chemicals.
• Interact with guests in a attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency with planning and decision-making.
• Maintain property by following the quality assurance manual.
