Job summary

SEIU Local 2015 in Los Angeles seeks an Organizing Coordinator to supervise staff, design campaigns, and implement organizing plans aligned with the Union’s program goals.

The role requires leadership, strong judgment, and the ability to work with elected local leaders in complex political environments. You will mentor staff, supervise campaigns, manage budgets, and coordinate multiple initiatives while traveling as needed to support organizing efforts.

Qualifications

• High level of judgment, leadership, and commitment to SEIU goals.
• Experience in all elements of an organizing campaign, including leading staff, supervision, planning, and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, lead, assign, and evaluate staff including developing individual work plans with staff and overseeing their implantation and evaluation. Administer corrective discipline including termination if necessary.
• Recruit, interview, and recommend hiring staff.
• Formulates and administers organizing plans and campaigns, develops campaign budgets, oversees office administration. Authorizes expenditures within the campaign budget.
• Mentors Organizing Coordinator-in-Training and staff in organizing, training among staff as it relates to member organizing, new member organizing and coordinating multiple campaigns.
