Job description

The engine behind every sponsor campaign on radio, newsletters, podcasts, video and digital.

Every week, millions of people trust Kim Komando to tell them which tech to buy, which apps to trust and which scams to dodge. The brands that sponsor that trust? Their campaigns run through one person.

That person could be you.

Who we are

WestStar Multimedia is the company behind The Kim Komando Show, heard on 510 radio stations and SiriusXM by about 5 million listeners every week. We also publish The Current and Splash of AI newsletters, run a podcast network and a fast-growing YouTube channel, and operate an in-house ad agency that places host-read campaigns for national tech brands on radio and podcast shows across the country.

We’ve been independent, debt‑free and investor‑free for more than 30 years. (Yes, that’s rare. Yes, we’re proud of it.)

Why this job exists

Our sponsors don’t buy just one thing anymore. A single client might run live reads on Kim’s show, sponsor The Current, land a YouTube segment, get a Komando.com article, run paid social ads and buy host‑read spots on dozens of other national shows. All at the same time.

Somebody has to make every one of those moving parts land on time, on message and on spec. That’s you. Our SVP of Global Partnerships owns the client relationships and manages the day to day. You make sure every asset, approval, script, schedule and log is buttoned up.

Think of it as air traffic control for ads. Fewer headsets. More spreadsheets.

What you’ll own

You turn a signed deal into a campaign that runs perfectly, everywhere it’s supposed to run.

Assets and approvals
  • Collect, organize and track every client asset: logos, talking points, offer codes, vanity URLs, audio, video and creative
  • Route scripts and creative to clients for approval, and follow up until it’s signed off
  • Keep a clean record of what’s approved, what’s pending and what’s due
  • Confirm every claim, disclosure, promo code and URL is right before anything goes live
Copywriting
  • Write radio scripts and live‑read copy for Kim and partner hosts
  • Write newsletter sponsor ads, intros, outros and editorial mentions
  • Write social posts and Komando.com sponsor copy in Kim’s voice
  • Turn client notes into clean revisions, fast
Scheduling
  • Schedule sponsor placements across the radio show, SiriusXM, The Current, Splash of AI , podcasts, YouTube and Komando.com
  • Keep the Editorial and Advertising calendars accurate so sales, editorial and production are never surprised
  • Load each day’s sponsor positions into the newsletter build
Trafficking
  • Traffic approved scripts and copy to The Kim Komando Show , SiriusXM and the partner hosts in our agency network
  • Make sure the right version runs in the right spot on the right date
  • Track missed spots, preemptions and make‑goods, and close the loop
Show logs
  • Build, maintain and reconcile weekly radio logs in NetSuite
  • Prepare show logs and daily program scripts with the Production team
  • Coordinate client podcast interviews and audio and video recordings
Proof it ran
  • Pull and send weekly airchecks so clients hear exactly what aired
  • Update the Advertiser Performance tracker daily in our in‑house AI campaign platform
  • Flag anything off track to the SVP right away
  • Help Finance reconcile what ran against what was billed
You’re our person if you have
  • 2+ years in ad trafficking, media operations, traffic coordination or agency production
  • Serious copywriting chops. This is non‑negotiable, and we’ll ask for proof.
  • A love of details and deadlines (you double‑check the promo code before anyone asks)
  • Rock‑solid organization: you can track dozens of assets across multiple campaigns and know where every one stands
  • Clear, friendly, persistent follow‑up with clients and hosts
  • Strong Google Workspace and spreadsheet skills, plus the ability to learn new tools fast
  • Daily AI habits, and the judgment to know when a human needs to check the work
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Bonus points for
  • Radio or podcast ad ops experience: logs, airchecks, make‑goods
  • Host‑read, influencer or sponsorship campaign experience
  • Hands‑on time with NetSuite, beehiiv, Meta Ads Manager or YouTube Studio
  • Already knowing who Kim Komando is (your parents count)
