Job summary

The Springfield JCC is seeking a dynamic Camp & Youth Recreation Manager to lead our summer camp program and year-round youth activities at 1160 Dickinson St, Springfield, MA 01108. This full-time, benefitted role involves building engaging camp experiences that reflect Jewish values, coordinating with the marketing team, and expanding enrollment through family outreach.

You will recruit and supervise staff, plan daily and weekly activities, ensure licensing compliance, and manage end-of-season

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of summer camp experience, preferably in leadership.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and coach staff.
• Ability to engage with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Camp Planning & Administration: take primary responsibility for summer camp prep ensuring program reflects Jewish values and traditions.
• Staff Leadership & Supervision: recruit, screen, interview, and assist with hiring camp staff; plan orientation and training.
• Programming & Camp Operations: plan daily activities, weekly programming, events; ensure licensing requirements and annual visits.
• Camper & Family Relations: greet campers and families; assist with orientation and build positive relationships.
• Safety, Compliance & End-of-Season: enforce safety policies; lead incident response; complete wrap-up and evaluations.
• Outreach Coordination: collaborate with youth programming and marketing teams to build camp enrollment and regional engagement.
