Job summary

The Springfield Jewish Community Center is seeking a Camp & Youth Recreation Manager to lead the summer camp program, engage campers and families, and collaborate with the marketing team on outreach strategies. This full-time, benefitted, year-round position offers a $60,000 annual compensation and opportunities to strengthen community programming.

The role emphasizes planning, staff recruitment, programming, licensing compliance, and building positive relationships with campers and families

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of summer camp experience, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to effectively supervise, coach, and support staff.
• Ability to communicate professionally with children, families, staff, and JCC leadership.

Responsibilities

• Camp Planning & Administration: taking primary responsibility for the administrative and operational preparation of summer camp with Jewish values.
• Recruit, screen, interview, and assist with hiring camp staff, planning staff orientation and training.
• Programming & Camp Operations: plan and coordinate daily activities, weekly programming and events; ensure licensing requirements and visits.
• Camper & Family Relations: greet campers and families, assist with orientation, build positive relationships and manage parent expectations.
• Safety, Compliance & End-of-Season: enforce safety policies, lead incident response and documentation; conduct end-of-summer wrap-up and evaluation.
• Coordinate youth programming portfolio and outreach to communities to boost enrollment and profile.
