Brunel is seeking a Camp Supervisor for a long-term contract in Bagdad, Arizona. The role reports to the Support Services manager and involves managing a camp facility to meet company standards, including project alignment, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Responsibilities include planning the camp schedule, coordinating with the camp services provider, ensuring compliance with contract terms, and overseeing camp operations such as transportation, accommodations, catering, and facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or equivalent with 8+ years in support services/camps.
• High School diploma or GED with 12+ years in support services/camps, including heavy industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute camp schedule aligned with project schedule.
• Coordinate with camp services provider to implement camp rules and regulations.
• Establish and manage camp services for transportation, accommodation, catering, offices, IT.
• Oversee provider performance to ensure contract compliance and high service standards.
• Monitor and report supplier performance against all contracts and work plans.
• Conduct hygiene and food safety inspections and report safety risks.
• Manage camp booking system including check-in/check-out for mob/demob.
• Perform other relevant duties as requested.

Job description

Brunel is currently searching for a Camp Supervisor for a long-term contract position with our client, this contractor position will be in Bagdad, Arizona. Will consider non-local candidates on a 4/1 rotation.

This position will be based in Bagdad, Az and will report to the Support Services manager.

Area of Focus:

Manage the camp facility to provide the standards set by the company, including alignment of project activities to business goals, financial and resource allocation, and to audit and control the performance of the camp services provider.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the planning and execution of the project camp schedule to align with the Project schedule.
• Work with the camp services provider to fully implement the camp rules and regulations.
• Establish and manage camp services for all phases including transportation, accommodation, catering, offices, IT etc.
• Oversee the camp services provider’s performance to ensure compliance with the contract and to ensure high standards of service including and not limited to housekeeping/catering /waste management/medical facilities/transportation.
• Manage the monitoring and reporting of supplier’s performance against all project support services contracts, work plans, quality of services and camp occupancy.
• Conduct hygiene and food safety inspections and immediately report any potential safety risks.
• Manage the camp booking system including the check in/Check out procedures for both mob and de-mob.
• Perform other relevant duties as requested.

Job Scope:

Nature of work: Works on mostly routine tasks and usually implements solution through individual effort.

Level of interaction: Collaborates mostly with peers in the same functional area, and/or department and has moderate external interaction.

Autonomy/decision making: Works under supervision and has limited latitude to set objectives, priorities and timelines impacting the individual assigned area of work.

Budgetary responsibility: Has no direct budget responsibility.

Managerial responsibility: Has limited latitude to manage people, functions, projects or programs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality business, or equivalent in training and/or field experience and a minimum of eight (8) years progressive experience in the support services/camps field Or
• High School diploma or GED and a minimum of twelve (12) years progressive experience in the support services/Camps field (experience with heavy industrial engineering and construction projects administration)
• Must be a self-starter, quick learner, highly productive and have strong business ethics.
• Must have working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work with general office equipment such as a personal computer and keyboard and photocopier.
• Ability to manage camp facilities.
• Ability to lead and make decisions quickly with limited information.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, work plans and schedule
• Ability to deal effectively with vendors/suppliers.
• Strong oral and written communication and documentation skills
• Ability to capture and analyze camp facilities databases.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Preferred requirements:

• Experience as camp manager or support services coordinator
• Experience in mining/mineral industry

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Position will require periods on active construction sites.
• Some locations require ability to drive and walk in construction areas.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
• Client promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing and alcohol testing as allowed by applicable state laws.

If candidate is not local to the area, client will provide accommodations and travel for a 4 week on, 1 week off not working rotation, along with monthly stipend for living expenses.
