Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory Camp is seeking a Camp Music Instructor to plan, coordinate, and direct the Conservatory Music program for campers at the Camp location. You will ensure program quality and safety while serving as a positive role model for youth.

Responsibilities include delivering quality music instruction, teaching music theory, preparing students for recitals, supervising activities, and supporting evening programs.

Qualifications

• Six months experience teaching music education.
• Ability to play and teach lessons in a classroom setting involving more than one student.
• Equivalent training and experience acceptable.
• Knowledge of child and youth behavior and development.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality music instruction to campers.
• Teaches music theory to appropriate levels.
• Prepares students for recitals and concerts.
• Plans and monitors student work to ensure accuracy.
• Ensures safety and supervision of campers at all times.
• Participates in evening programs and camp activities.
• Sits with campers during meals as a table monitor when needed.
• Maintains clean, safe living quarters; supports camp staff team.
