Job summary

Crystalaire Adventures in Northern Michigan seeks a hands-on camp maintenance lead for Camp Lookout. You’ll oversee upkeep, plan projects, manage daily operations, and build a preventive maintenance program to keep facilities safe and ready for summer programs. Spring 2027 start with flexible dates.

Pay range is $8,000–$9,000 for the contract, and housing is included. You’ll run the tool room, handle boat movement for supplies, assist in the kitchen as needed, and work with staff and campers to

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Hands-on repairs, carpentry, plumbing, or general maintenance.
• Boat experience preferred; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead repair and maintenance projects, working with the camp director on scope, timeline, and budget.
• Build a preventive maintenance program to keep camp safe and in good shape.
• Create a camp-wide maintenance log covering planned, current, and completed projects for every building and system, so next summer starts strong.
• Run the tool room: keep it organized, keep equipment working, and set up a tool check-out system for staff and campers.
• Work through the daily maintenance checklist and flag major issues to the director.
• Drive the boat to move supplies, garbage, and passengers (depending on skill level).
• Keep camp running: haul trash to the dumpster by boat, unload food deliveries, monitor and swap the kitchen’s LP gas tanks, and help in the kitchen when needed.
