Job summary

Gateway Region YMCA is seeking summer camp staff to Direct and supervise activities and provide leadership for staff and volunteers at Camp Lakewood in Missouri. The role involves coordinating cabins, clinics, and area directors to ensure safe, engaging programs and events for campers.

The position emphasizes staff development, safety standards, and effective communication with diverse groups, including coordinating meal hosts and documenting required activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year as camp staff.
• Completion of or willingness to obtain YMCA program certifications.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups in the community.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises program activities to meet community needs and YMCA objectives.
• Trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers.
• Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
• Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
• Ensures maintenance and upkeep of Camp Lakewood grounds and facilities.
• Schedules activities for cabins and units.
• Coordinates all-camp activities and programs.
• Supervise cabins, clinic areas, and area directors for proper camp programming.
• Implements high standards and safety in all programs.
• Assist in staff training and ensure campers learn and complete projects.
