Job summary

Grymca is seeking a Head Cook to oversee meal preparation, storage, and kitchen operations. The role requires face-to-face leadership and may involve early mornings, evenings, and weekends to support campers and guests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• 1–3 months restaurant or cafeteria cooking experience, or related cooking volume experience and/or training.
• Ability to prepare foods for special groups (dietary restrictions) and to work with children.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts when the Food Service Manager is not present.
• Check in food deliveries and assist with inventory.
• Oversee preparation of meals for campers and guests.
• Maintain stored food per Michigan Health Regulations.
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness at end of service and end of day.
• Assist with Summer Food Service Program as needed.
