Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County in Menomonee Falls, WI is seeking a Sports Director to lead youth sports programming, family events, and youth initiatives. You will supervise staff, develop curriculum, and ensure safe, engaging experiences for participants.

The role requires budgeting, staff development, and strong communication; regular weekends and evenings may be required; First Aid/CPR/AED training provided on onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be able to relate well to children and adults and must have the ability to multi-task.
• The candidate should have a positive history of leadership in staff, volunteer, and program development, fiscal budgeting and management, and good written and verbal communication skills.
• First Aid, CPR, AED Training will be required, and provided as part of the onboarding process.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, observe, and supervise staff and volunteers.
• Direct service and coaching for youth sports programming and on-site family events.
• Identify, develop, implement, and promote high quality youth, teen, and family programs.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff, members, participants, and children; provide motivation and guidance.
• Respond to member and participant needs and manage complaints with courteous problem solving.
