Job summary

Easter Seals Tennessee Inc is seeking a Camp Counselor to ensure the health and safety of assigned campers (1–3 individuals) during camp sessions.

The role involves guiding daily activities, assisting with personal care and ADLs, and maintaining a respectful, positive environment. Camp sessions occur three times a year, with long weekends in December and March and a full week in August.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have a high-school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Engage campers in daily planned activities, improvise as needed and adjust to changes in activities.
• Provide assistance with personal care and hygiene, encouraging independence and self-care.
• Interact with campers in a respectful, age-appropriate and culturally-appropriate manner.
• Help with teaching, coordinating, and carrying out planned activities.
• Promote a positive environment.
• Model and promote person-centered practices and respectful interactions.
• Treat campers, staff, customers and visitors with professionalism and respect.
• Document camper activities or incidents as required.
