Job summary

Easter Seals Tennessee Inc. is seeking a Camp Counselor to ensure the health and safety of campers during sessions in December, March, and August. Under the Program Coordinator, you will support 1-3 campers, engaging them in daily activities and promoting independence and respect.

You will assist with ADLs, model person-centered care, and document noteworthy events. A background check and drug screening are required, and applicants must be at least 18 with a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have a high-school diploma or GED.
• Be able to pass a drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Engage campers in daily planned activities, improvise, and adjust to changes in activities.
• Provide assistance with personal care and hygiene to campers while encouraging independence and self-care as appropriate.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) such as toileting, bathing, ambulating, transfers, feeding, and dressing.
• Interact with campers in a respectful, age-appropriate and culturally-appropriate manner.
• Help with teaching, coordinating, and carrying out planned activities.
• Promote a positive environment.
• Model and promote person centered practices and respectful interactions with all people.
• Treat campers, staff, customers and visitors with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.
• Reports may be required to document the camper’s activities, behavioral incidents, or other events of note.
• Other duties as assigned.
