Job summary

An established industry player is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join the Camp Royall team as cooks. Are you considering a future career in Food Service or are currently working in Food Service?

Camp Royall, located in Pittsboro, NC and owned and operated by the Autism Society of North Carolina, offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and adults with autism while gaining invaluable hands-on experience!

Must be able to travel to and from camp for scheduled shifts.

What You’ll Do
As a Camp Royall Cook, you will:
  • Prepare, cook and serve all meals according to the menu and dietary requirements. This includes cutting, mixing, cooking over stovetop, baking and serving, while maintaining sanitation standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area, which meets all food safety and sanitation standards, including performing daily refrigeration and freezer temperature checks.
  • Assist with planning food orders and deliveries.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during meal service, including supervision of all volunteers and kitchen janitors.
  • Participate in all pre-service facility/kitchen training and scheduled staff meetings.
  • Ability to maintain shift schedule, as determined by the Facility Managers.
Schedule:
  • Summer 2025: May 20, 2025-June 27, 2025 (first half) & July 6-August 8, 2025 (second half)
  • Year-Round: Various weekends Sept-May as well as many weeklong retreat and camp weeks
  • Schedule during summer and/or year round is determined by your availability.
