Job summary

Young Men's Christian Association Of Southwestern Indiana in Evansville, IN is seeking a part-time Housekeeping staff member to maintain cleanliness of Camp Carson buildings and grounds. You will perform janitorial duties and daily upkeep to ensure areas are ready for tours and activities.

The role requires knowledge of cleaning methods, ability to follow schedules, and adherence to YMCA core values. CPR/First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention training are required within set timelines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure YMCA Camp Carson is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and upkeep of assigned area.
• Perform duties in an efficient and timely manner so any part of camp is available for a tour.
• Perform janitorial duties including wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, room setup, vacuuming.
• Record all needed repairs and report repairs to supervisor.
• Ensure Camp's building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Replaces soap, paper towels, toilet paper and other supplies.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Assist in meeting and maintaining standards set by OSHA, YMCA, ACA.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe use.
• Willingness to learn and share new methods of cleaning.
• Other activities addressing health and well-being of staff and members

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Housekeeping staff shall assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the Camp Carson buildings and grounds. The Housekeeping staff will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential functions.
• Work with cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.
• Ability to clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed.
• Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
• Perform essential cleaning to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi – reaching to full‑reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs.
