Cornell Cooperative Extension is seeking a Boating Coordinator to assist the Aquatics Director with kayaking, CORCLing, and standup paddleboarding program activities, boat tests, and instructor training at the summer camp in New York.

You will supervise ten campers, promote water safety with staff, and help plan camp activities, with opportunities to participate in staff meetings and trainings.

Competenze

• One or more years of experience working with children.
• One or more years of experience as a boating instructor.
• Valid American Canoe Association evaluation or other as approved by the local Department of Health
• Emotional maturity, good health, and vitality.
• Ability to work cooperatively with campers and other staff members
• Must be at least 18 years old to comply with NYS Department of Health regulations.
• Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.

Mansioni

• Assist Aquatics Director with implementing and evaluating kayaking, CORCLing, and standup paddleboarding programs.
• Conduct boat tests and train boating instructors.
• Set up the H and F dock during orientation and maintain boating equipment.
• Promote safety on and off the water with boating instructors and lifeguards.
• Provide observations and feedback for boating instructors as needed.
• Provide leadership and guidance for ten campers and participate in camp planning.
• Assist with all camp program activities and other camp-wide activities as assigned.
• Participate in staff meetings and training events.
