Job summary

Northern Star (Pogo) LLC in Delta Junction, Alaska, is seeking an Underground Miner for the Electrical & Communications Service Crew on a 28 days on/14 days off rotation. The role supports Underground Electricians with a focus on safety and productivity in a remote campsite environment.

No prior electrical experience required; candidates should have basic mechanical knowledge and strong teamwork. The company offers an excellent remuneration package, bonuses, 401k, and on-site camp facilities.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical knowledge.
• Good communication skills, including ability to read and speak English.
• Basic computer literacy
• Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
• Ability to provide leadership and training to new team members
• Must have good comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate underground equipment safely and efficiently.
• General laboring as required.
• Housekeeping of the work area.
• Ensure tools and equipment are serviceable and safe.
• Communicate clearly on two-way radio.
• Follow MSHA requirements including hazard IDs and pre-start checks.
• Assist with fault finding and preventative maintenance
• Assess ground conditions and conduct scaling as required.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Electrical Supervisor.
