Job summary

Cleaveland/Price Inc. in Trafford, PA is seeking a Programmer II with 2+ years of CNC programming experience to develop and maintain CNC programs for machining, bending, and line equipment using CAM software.

You will read engineering drawings, select tooling, verify toolpaths, and collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet production goals. The role involves optimizing cycle times, supporting new product launches, and ensuring safety and quality standards on the shop

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAM software such as SolidCAM, Mastercam, Fusion 360, ESPRIT, GibbsCAM, or similar platforms.
• Experience programming CNC mills and lathes and other fabrication equipment including multi-axis machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for machining, bending, cut line equipment using SolidCAM and other programming software.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and CAD models to develop efficient machining processes.
• Select tooling, cutting parameters, fixtures, and machining strategies to maximize productivity and quality.
• Generate and verify toolpaths to ensure machining accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve machining and manufacturing challenges.
• Provide complete setup documentation, tooling requirements, and machining instructions for production personnel.
• Troubleshoot and correct program issues with operator during program prove outs.
• Optimize cycle times and machining processes while maintaining product quality and dimensional requirements.
• Support new product introductions by developing machining processes and validating programs before production release.
• Conduct program simulations and machine verification to prevent collisions and reduce setup risks.
• Maintain program revisions, documentation, and engineering records in accordance with company standards.
• Recommend process improvements related to tooling, fixturing, programming methods, and machining techniques.
• Work closely with machine operators and setup technicians to improve manufacturability and production efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
