Job Title: Callaway Gardener Level 1

Position Overview: The Gardener Level 1 is an entry-level position within the Gardens Operations department. You will participate as part of a horticulture and landscape maintenance team within an assigned garden area.

Qualifications: Experience in horticulture/landscaping is helpful. Must have a valid driver's license. Completion of WPS training within 5 days of hire or possession of a current GA commercial pesticide license is required.

Physical Requirements & Skills: Ability to work long hours, perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, squatting, kneeling, and working outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to operate small tools, lawn, gardening equipment, and preferably heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Motivate and lead a team, ensuring high guest service standards.
2. Evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
3. Handle high-pressure situations with composure, resolving guest issues effectively.
4. Identify potential guest issues and develop preventative methodologies.
5. Listen effectively to team members and guests, understanding and clarifying concerns.
6. Manage and understand basic financial data and perform simple math functions.
7. Maintain friendly, service-oriented interactions with guests and team members.
8. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing a nametag.
9. Ensure safety and efficiency by complying with standards and regulations.
10. Keep accurate records, including pesticide application logs, and report material needs.
11. Practice proper horticultural techniques such as planting, watering, weeding, pruning, pest control, deadheading, and plant identification.
12. Operate and maintain equipment properly and safely.
13. Prioritize tasks daily and weekly, working with minimal supervision.
14. Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
15. Perform additional duties as assigned.
