Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner with California WC experience to analyze complex claims and deliver timely benefits determinations. This remote California role supports adjudication, settlement negotiation, and subrogation identification within established client service standards.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of workers' compensation claims management experience or equivalent.
• California jurisdictional knowledge required; SIP certification or must obtain within one year of hire.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes complex California workers' compensation claims by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure.
• Negotiates settlements within designated authority.
• Calculates and assigns reserves and manages reserve adequacy through the life of the claim.
• Calculates and pays benefits, approves timely payments and adjustments.
• Prepares required state filings within statutory limits.
• Manages the litigation process for cost-effective resolutions.
• Reports claims to the excess carrier and responds to directions professionally.
