Intertek, a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL) and leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Calibration Technician to join our Electrical team in Plano, Texas.

Job Description

As a Calibration Technician, you will calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair various assets supporting manufacturing and laboratory processes, ensuring compliance with GMP and international measurement standards.

Responsibilities include:

1. Perform calibration, diagnostic, and preventative maintenance on instrumentation and equipment.
2. Conduct calibration work at customer sites with minimal supervision.
3. Coordinate repairs and calibration with third-party vendors.
4. Maintain accurate calibration records and standards.
5. Ensure timely calibration services and review calibrated equipment.
6. Document activities following ISO 17025 standards.
7. Assist in writing or updating procedures for efficiency and standardization.
8. Perform suspect equipment investigations as needed.
9. Travel up to 50% to various client and Intertek sites.
10. Work in diverse environments, including enclosed or elevated spaces, and wear necessary safety equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with calibration standards.
• Ability to use mechanical and electrical tools.
• Understanding of the 7 SI units of measurement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic math skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

Physical Requirements:

• Dexterity for handling small objects.
• Ability to lift up to 25kg (50lbs).
• Long periods of walking/standing.
• Work in various environmental conditions.
• Wear respirators if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with calibration software.
• Formal training in metrology.
• Knowledge of ANSI/NCSL Z540 or ISO 17025.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, thermal, or RF calibrations.
