Job summary

JM Test Systems, LLC in Alexandria, LA is seeking an experienced Calibration Technician to calibrate, repair, and certify instruments across electrical, dimensional, physical, and mechanical disciplines. The role supports both lab work and on-site customer locations, requiring hands-on metrology experience and problem-solving skills.

You will troubleshoot instruments, analyze data, and ensure documentation and certificates are completed on time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hands-on metrology experience calibrating electronic, physical, dimensional, or mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of measurement science, calibration principles, laboratory standards, and related math, physics, and electronics.
• Ability to correctly use test instruments and standards, interpret calibration procedures, and work independently.
• Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
• Ability to travel for onsite work with a valid driver's license, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in lab, plant, and outdoor settings in varying conditions.
• Preferred: Associate's degree, technical school, or military training in measurement science, calibration, or electronics.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and certify instruments to established procedures.
• Analyze data to identify out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust accordingly.
• Troubleshoot and repair instruments to return equipment to spec.
• Document calibration data and prepare reports and certificates on time.
• Support onsite work at customer locations and in the lab.
• Train less experienced technicians and share lab improvements.
• Maintain organized labs and manage supplies.
