Job summary

JM Test Systems in Mobile, AL, is seeking an experienced Calibration Lab Technician to calibrate, repair, and certify instruments across electrical, dimensional, physical, mechanical, and optical disciplines in the lab and onsite. You will troubleshoot, perform complex measurements, train junior technicians, and ensure compliance with procedures, standards, and ISO 17025.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hands-on metrology experience calibrating electronic, physical, dimensional, or mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of measurement science, calibration principles, lab standards, and related math/physics/electronics.
• Ability to read calibration procedures and work independently.
• Strong communication and customer-focused approach.
• Willingness to travel for onsite work with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and certify instruments to procedures and standards.
• Analyze data to identify out-of-tolerance conditions and apply corrections.
• Diagnose instrument failures and perform repairs to specification.
• Document calibration data and generate certificates and reports.
• Support onsite work at customer sites.
• Train junior technicians and suggest lab process improvements.
• Maintain organized lab spaces and manage supplies.
