Job Title: Electronics Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician with strong technical experience to support the calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of instruments and systems returned for service. This role is typically based in a service support or metrology environment and requires the ability to troubleshoot to the component level while maintaining high standards of accuracy, documentation, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibrations using various primary standards and measurement and test equipment (M&TE) in accordance with prescribed work instructions.
• Prepare all required documentation and maintain accurate, complete records related to calibrations, repairs, and service activities.
• Analyze calibration data and trends and communicate findings to the appropriate departments to help ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Escalate unusual product issues, recurring problems, or nonconforming conditions to the appropriate department for further investigation and resolution.
• Maintain all standards and M&TE in proper working order, ensuring they are calibrated, stored, and used in accordance with established procedures.
• Work in a lab setting to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair measurement equipment or components returned to the service center by customers.
• Diagnose technical problems down to the component level and perform corrective actions, including repair, replacement, and adjustment.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance services on measurement equipment to ensure reliability and performance.
• Follow all applicable work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures while performing technical tasks.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments regarding status of work, issues identified, and recommendations for improvements.

Essential Skills

• Strong troubleshooting skills in electronics and electrical systems gained through school or hands-on work experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment to the component level in a laboratory or service environment.
• Hands-on experience with calibration processes and use of test and lab equipment.
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering or electronics engineering principles.
• Basic understanding of metrology concepts; familiarity with ISO-related practices is preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for documenting work and conveying technical information.
• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs as part of handling equipment and instruments.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a careful, methodical approach to technical tasks.
• Ability to work well in a team setting and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn and succeed in a technical environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree with a focus in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical discipline is also suitable.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic test equipment in a service or lab environment.
• At least 6 months of experience using automated test systems.
• Soldering experience for component-level repair and rework.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and quality systems related to metrology and calibration.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate documentation and records in a technical setting.

Work Environment This role is based in a laboratory and service center environment focused on metrology, calibration, and electronic test equipment. You will work with a variety of measurement instruments, primary standards, and measurement and test equipment (M&TE), as well as automated test systems and lab equipment. The position operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with training conducted on the same hours. Appropriate lab attire and adherence to safety and equipment‑handling procedures are expected.

This is a Contract position based out of Everett, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
