Job summary

Actalent in Seattle, WA, is seeking a contract Test Engineer with strong analog/digital/RF/test experience to validate complex electronic systems. You will set up test rigs, run measurements with DMMs and oscilloscopes, and drive automated tests with Python and SCPI.

Responsibilities include generating FPGA images, packaging software, and delivering detailed test reports and artifacts. This onsite role offers competitive hourly pay and project-based work.

Qualifications

• Experience in analog/digital/test environments with instrumentation and measurement setup.
• Ability to structure tests for RF, analog, digital and optical designs.
• Knowledge of SPIs, I2C, and network testing methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up test rigs and verification environments using evaluation kits and lab infrastructure.
• Generate FPGA images and Linux/Windows software packages as needed.
• Create test reports with CSV files, logs and measurement data.
• Define pass/fail criteria and maintain readable artifacts.

Description

• -Test equipment: Use of Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Vector Network Analyzers/Vector Signal Generators, Logic Analyzers, Time Domain Reflectometry, Digital Acquisition Systems, 1149.1 JTAG, Evaluation Kits (Power Blocks, FPGA boards, Microprocessor kits)
• -Specialty: Analog Design/Test, Digital Design/Test, RF Design/Test, Optical Design/Test, Software Testing
• -Meets Bar: DMM + Oscilloscope + Scripting
• -Meets High Bar (one set of these)
• -Analog: Resistor Box, AC/DC power, PSRR, noise/ripple/phase measurements, EMI/EMC
• -i.e., can structure tests to test gain amplifiers, power supplies, etc.
• -Digital: Logic analyzer, I2C/SPI/UART/DAQ knowledge, Ethernet (802.3 compliance), PCIe compliance, Network testing (i.e., wireshark, packet debugging) EMI/EMC
• -i.e., can run tests to test SPI bus, memory interfaces, network testing
• -Electrical Generics

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
