Job summary

Robert Bosch Group in Farmington Hills, MI is offering a Calibration Intern position (8 months, 40 hours/week) in the Calibration Engineering group of Power Solutions. The internship focuses on supporting powertrain calibration projects, testing, data analysis, and automation of test scripts.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, with at least one semester completed, and have an electrical or mechanical background.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical or mechanical engineering background and vehicle/engine experience.
• Proficiency in Python or C++ is required.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to work 35–40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Support Powertrain calibration projects and data analysis.
• Assist in in-vehicle and engine/dyno testing and data validation.
• Develop automated test scripts and support calibration engineers' daily activities.
• Test and validate On-Board Diagnostics and assist in test trips under various environments.

The internship will be from either January - August 2027, or May - December 2027.

This internship takes place in Farmington Hills, Michigan, the headquarters of Bosch North America, in the Calibration Engineering group of Power Solutions.

The successful candidate will be given an 8-month project, based on their skills and career focus.

These include supporting:

• Powertrain Calibration Projects
• In-vehicle and engine/chassis dyno testing; data analysis
• Adaptation and programming of automated test scripts
• Supporting Calibration Engineer's daily activities (flashing vehicles, analyzing data, validating software and data, etc.)
• Testing and validation of On-Board Diagnostics
• Support Test Trips in hot/cold/high altitude environments

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, with at least one semester completed
• Good electrical or mechanical engineering knowledge/background
• Has worked on/with vehicles/engines
• Python or C++ skills
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
• Must work 35-40 hours per week
• Valid US driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive-related hobby and/or experience working with engines or vehicles.
• 1+ year academic or industry experience with software languages and operating systems.
• Simulink or Matlab experience
• INCA, ECU Test
