Job summary

QuinStar Technology, Inc. invites applications for a hands-on role in calibrating and maintaining a broad range of Metrology & Test Equipment (MTE) at our Torrance, CA facility.

The position requires performing vibration testing, managing ESD controls, and supporting QA audits with a strong focus on accuracy and documentation. Qualified candidates have 2+ years of experience, knowledge of calibration principles, and the ability to operate various test equipment.

Qualifications

• Must meet U.S. export control requirements and qualify as a “US Person.”
• 2+ years of experience calibrating and servicing electrical, mechanical, and RF/microwave MTE.
• Knowledge of calibration principles.
• Basic understanding of electrical theory.
• Basic algebra/math skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration and verification measurements of MTE, including generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, power sensors/meters, multimeters, power supplies, torque devices, thermometers, calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Maintain a database of MTE inventory and calibration history.
• Conduct impact analysis for MTE with out-of-tolerance calibration results.
• Issue calibration recall reports.
• Troubleshoot and repair MTE; replace circuit board components with soldering skills.
• Coordinate sending MTE to service providers for repair and calibration.
• Retrieve MTE from within the company for calibration and return after calibration.
• Perform vibration testing using a vibration machine and accelerometers.
• Operate a TVAC with liquid nitrogen service.
• Execute and uphold the company’s ESD control plan.
• Assist in developing and improving test procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide guidance to other employees regarding operation of MTE.
• Support audits and QA initiatives related to calibration and environmental testing.
• Maintain a clean and organized calibration laboratory.
