Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, seeks a Technical Specialist to join the Calibration & Design team in Cortland, NY. You will perform calibration, design support, and quality tasks to help clients meet ISO 17025 and other standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the sciences, or equivalent education, experience and/or training.
• No experience required – recent grads considered.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Microsoft Office expertise.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters.
• Ability to travel as business needs dictate (up to 25%).

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, diagnostic and preventative maintenance on instrumentation and/or equipment.
• Coordinate the repair of instrumentation and calibration of equipment with 3rd Party Vendors.
• Ensure timely turn-around time on all instrumentation and equipment calibration services.
• Conduct equipment review following the return of calibrated equipment.
• Maintain accurate calibration records.
• Maintain instrumentation and/or equipment list(s).
• Ensure that preventative maintenance of equipment is performed in a timely and effective manner.
• Review all calibration documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Create or maintain Calibration Certificates.
• Perform or assist in performing suspect equipment investigations.
• May assist with writing and/or updating procedures to ensure efficiency, standardization, and accuracy.
• Assist & Support the Design Services Engineers in any capacity that is needed.
• Perform other work as required.
