Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration, diagnostic and preventive maintenance on instrumentation and/or equipment.
  • Coordinate repair of instrumentation and calibration with 3rd party vendors.
  • Ensure timely turnaround on calibration services.
  • Conduct equipment review after calibration returns.
  • Maintain calibration records and instrument lists.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance is performed timely and effectively.
  • Review calibration documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Create or maintain Calibration Certificates.
  • Investigate suspect equipment as needed.
  • Assist with updating procedures for efficiency and standardization.
  • Support Design Services Engineers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What are we looking for?

The Engineer is responsible for performing calibration and support in the Design group. Calibration extends to internal & external needs on equipment to the provisions of ISO 17025, A2LA, and other mandatory accredited certification bodies required. Writing reports, reviewing data and calibration certificates, communication with external calibration services and managing internal & external databases.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $68,000 - $75,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. What you’ll do:
  • Perform calibration, diagnostic and preventative maintenance on instrumentation and/or equipment.
  • Coordinate the repair of instrumentation and calibration of equipment with 3rd Party Vendors.
  • Ensure timely turn-around time on all instrumentation and equipment calibration services.
  • Conduct equipment review following the return of calibrated equipment.
  • Maintain accurate calibration records.
  • Maintain instrumentation and/or equipment list(s).
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance of equipment is performed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Review all calibration documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Create or maintain Calibration Certificates.
  • Perform or assist in performing suspect equipment investigations.
  • May Assist with writing and/or updating procedures to ensure efficiency, standardization, and accuracy.
  • Assist & Support the Design Services Engineers in any capacity that is needed.
  • Perform other work as required.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • No experience required - recent college grads considered
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license and reliable driving record
  • Microsoft Office expertise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate (up to 25%)
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering
  • 1+ years of Calibration experience
  • Metrology knowledge a plus
  • Measurement Uncertainty knowledge a plus
  • Environmental Chamber knowledge a plus
  • Mechanical knowledge a plus
  • Electrical knowledge a plus
  • Able to read and interpret technical standards and procedures
  • Ability to use mechanical and electrical tools and instrumentation necessary to complete the tasks outlined above
  • Able to follow direction and work independently and in a team environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with others in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
