Job summary

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, seeks an Engineer to join the Calibration & Design team in Cortland, New York. You will perform calibration, support design activities, and ensure adherence to quality standards and external certification requirements.

Responsibilities include calibrating instrumentation, coordinating repairs with vendors, maintaining records, and assisting Design Services Engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• No experience required - recent graduates considered.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Microsoft Office expertise.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Ability to travel as business needs dictate (up to 25%).

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, diagnostic and preventative maintenance on instrumentation and/or equipment.
• Coordinate the repair of instrumentation and calibration of equipment with 3rd Party Vendors.
• Ensure timely turn-around time on all instrumentation and equipment calibration services.
• Conduct equipment review following the return of calibrated equipment.
• Maintain accurate calibration records.
• Maintain instrumentation and/or equipment list(s).
• Ensure that preventative maintenance of equipment is performed in a timely and effective manner.
• Review all calibration documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Create or maintain Calibration Certificates.
• Perform or assist in performing suspect equipment investigations.
• May Assist with writing and/or updating procedures to ensure efficiency, standardization, and accuracy.
• Assist & Support the Design Services Engineers in any capacity that is needed.
• Perform other work as required.
