Job summary

Dairy Calf and Heifer Manager / Herdsman (6199) is a full-time on-site role at a 500-cow registered Holstein dairy in east central Wisconsin. Located in Wisconsin, the job begins immediately and focuses on managing young stock from birth to one year old.

You will perform standard herdsman duties including tagging, colostrum management, pen moves, weaning, vaccinations, and coordinating feeding crews. Supervisory experience and Spanish a plus are noted.

Qualifications

• Experience managing dairy calves and heifers from birth to one year.
• Supervisory experience; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Tag newborns and maintain health records.
• Colostrum management including pasteurizing and quality testing.
• Move calves between pens and manage weaning.
• Administer vaccinations and coordinate feeding crew.
• Train feeders and supervise calf pen cleanings.
• Liaise with the veterinarian and diagnose health issues.
