Job summary

Hy-Vee's Bakery is hiring a Bakery Cake Designer to bring customer visions to life through cake decorating and on-site wedding cake setup. This role combines artistry with customer service in a fast-paced retail bakery.

You'll lead part-time teammates, manage daily orders, and collaborate with the bakery team to keep production running smoothly while upholding Hy-Vee's standards for quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months or less of related work experience; training provided.
• Experience in decorating/cake design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and take bakery orders.
• Set up daily production timeline and check cake orders for details.
• Decorate bakery items and stay current on designs.
• Develop daily bakery orders for bakers including cakes and sizes.
• Lead part-time employees and coordinate with the bakery team.
• Deliver wedding cakes on site and ensure proper setup.
• Maintain sanitation and safety in the bakery.
